Some avatar items are shown locked in the game, because they need a certain requirement to be fulfilled to be unlocked. Some avatar items are free, while others require a specific amount of PokéCoins to be purchased. Categories necklaces and belts are exclusive from female avatars. Tops and bottoms are the only categories that are required, being the other optional. Appearance can be changed at any time from the Trainer Page by tapping Style icon below the Trainer avatar view. Also, the avatar poses can be customized. Customization choices include the Trainer's hat, glasses, necklaces, tops, bags, gloves, belts, bottoms, socks, footwear and mask. Finally, Groudon has some competition from fellow Ground-type Pokemon such as Landorus and Excadrill, as they have access to the incredibly valuable Rock-type coverage to make them more potent corebreakers. There are various apparel and accessory customization options that can be made to a Trainer's avatar in Pokémon GO. The Dragon Tail set can provide more consistency against the aforementioned threats, but can make Groudon's normally oppressive matchup against Steel-type Pokemon shaky, and has a rough time reliably damaging Togekiss and Zacian. Its Mud Shot set has some bait dependency, and can run into serious roadblocks against Flying-type Pokemon such as Lugia, Ho-Oh, Yveltal, and especially Dragonite. However, Groudon isn't without its issues. The release of Precipice Blades during GO Tour: Hoenn only amplifies its power, making it a daunting behemoth to overcome without a specific counter. Access to Dragon Tail further complicates options to counter Groudon with, as it can deal heavy damage to Dragon- and Flying-types that are normally advantageous against its Mud Shot set. Even though Fire Punch is quite weak, it can leave respectable dents on Togekiss and Zarude. Its solid bulk and frightening power allows it to take on many neutral foes, such as Giratina, Zacian and Mewtwo, although it may not outright defeat them. Being a Ground-type Pokemon, Groudon preys on the numerous Steel types in the league, such as Dialga, Melmetal, Excadrill, and Metagross. When fully leveled, it can stand tall on the unbridled force behind its huge stats, the power of its moveset, and the effectiveness of its typing. Groudon is one of the top Pokemon of the Master League. It can use its quickly charging moves to act as a closer, but frankly, it's not exactly a top choice for the tier by any meaningful metric. At this level, its huge stats are too restricted to be terribly effective, and its typing/moveset isn't as needed as it is in the Master League due to a lack of relevant Pokemon that it directly counters well. Groudon sadly does not perform very well in the ultra league. Groudon's CP is too high to enter the Great League. ![]() Nonetheless, Ground hit numerous relevant Tier 5s and Megas super effectively, granting Groudon plenty of use. And Precipice Blades is now released! With it, Groudon is indeed an absolute monster, although years of power creep have left its raw DPS slightly behind other strong attackers. When/if this is released as-is, Groudon is going to become an absolute monster. This attack has been in the game's data for years now and is extremely powerful. Moonblast is stronger than either of Sylveon's other Fairy-type charged. Quick Attack trades damage for greater energy gains, but lacks STAB and can't be Super Effective against anything. Charm provides strong STAB fast move damage that isn't widely resisted. In the main series, Groudon is not only one of only two pokemon blessed with a Primal Reversion, with the other being its eternal rival Kyogre, it may also be able to look forward to its signature attack, Precipice Blades. Sylveon only really has one viable moveset, made up of its only moves that aren't bad. But it does suffer from the weakness of most Ground Type moves, which limits its potential to a certain degree.ĭespite its shortcomings, Groudon is actually the pinnacle of Ground types and a worth-while Pokemon to have on your team, especially given its future potential. It's definitely a top Ground Type attacker that does its job extremely well. The mover of continents was by far the most powerful Pokemon to have been released in the generation's short life span. Groudon, the cover legendary of Pokemon Ruby, made an abrupt appearance in Pokemon GO shortly after Gen 3's partial release in December 2017.
